Are you looking for a high quality English course in the UK? Choose an English UK member

English UK members offer high quality English courses in towns and cities all over the UK.

All English UK member centres are accredited by the British Council which means you can choose a course with confidence.

British Council inspections ensure English UK member centres continue to offer high-quality services to students. The inspectors check that the centre meets required standards in five areas: management; premises and resources, teaching and learning; welfare and student services; safeguarding (keeping students safe).

High standards of teaching

All English teachers working at English UK schools are appropriately experienced and qualified. The inspectors observe all teachers during the school inspection to ensure they all meet the quality standards.

The English language courses are designed to maximise learning opportunities and help students to develop their English in and out of the classroom.

Well-managed and reliable

The British Council inspectors check that the English language centre is well-managed.

Publicity must be accurate, there must be a clear complaints procedure, and proper emergency procedures. The centres regularly ask for feedback from students, and take action where necessary.

Good learning resources and environment

English UK member centre's learning resources and environment support students and enhance their studies. The language centre buildings are safe, with appropriate classrooms, resources and areas for students to relax.

Regular accommodation checks

Student accommodation, including homestay and residences, is inspected regularly to ensure a good standard.

Extra protection for young students under 18 years old

English UK members follow British Council safeguarding rules, and students under 18 always receive extra care and protection.

Protection from school closures

Rarely does a language centre close suddenly. However, if this does happen, English UK can help.

If a student has paid for a course at a British Council accredited English centre, and the centre closes, English UK will help find a new centre nearby so they can complete the course at no extra cost.

This applies to students already studying in the UK and those whose start date is two weeks or less before the date when the school closes.
