As the English language teaching market gets more competitive, it's crucial for language centres to get good feedback on social networking sites, which is why English UK is re-running its very successful Student Experience Conference this month.
We're inviting staff specialising in welfare, accommodation and other student contact roles to join us at Anglo Continental in Bournemouth on 30 November for a programme focusing on improving customer service, dealing with difficult people, visa problems, making homestays as good as possible and making safeguarding even better.
Huan Japes, deputy chief executive of English UK, said he had been keen to run a Student Experience conference to support members in the South since a very successful event in Sheffield in 2014.
"In our current operating climate, where our competitors are all over the world and a student can share their experiences with thousands of potential customers using their phones, it's vital for centres to get all these aspects of the non-academic experience right," he said.
"We know members are focusing more and more on customer service: our programme in Bournemouth is to support with that, give expert guidance on areas to look at and answer any questions people bring with them."
