English UK members will form an ELT zone in the Study UK pavilion at the China International Education Exhibition Tour (CIEET) in Beijing this week so be sure to meet with them if you are attending.
The two-day student expo is taking place in Beijing on Saturday 24 and Sunday 25 March. In 2017 the event welcomed more than 12,000 visitors to meet representative from 250 institutions from 29 countries.
The English language teaching zone has been organised by British Council in China as part of the Study UK pavilion. They are promoting this presence through national and local media outlets and Chinese social media portals, including Sina Weibo and WeChat. Visit the CIEET website for more information about the event.
The British Council in China have also organised a mini workshop in Shanghai for participating English UK members, in response to requests from study abroad agents based in the city.
If you are an agent in China but can't make it to CIEET this week, there are lots of opportunities to meet UK educators and English UK members this autumn, including StudyWorld in London, the China Roadshow in Beijing, Chengdu and Shenzhen and the English UK Regional Fair, Asia Pacific (location to be announced soon).
China is the largest source market in the Asia Pacific region and the fifth largest source market globally. The British Council in China has an excellent knowledge of the local ELT market for young learner programmes in the UK, and has developed strong relationships with the Chinese study abroad agency network.
