Several English UK members celebrated deals with agents to send students to their centres after our annual China Roadshow.
Jodie Gray, English UK's director of strategy, said: "It's been a great event, and a particular success for some members who secured deals with agents before leaving China."
More than 1,500 meetings were scheduled with Chinese education consultancies, travel agents and local educational institutions.
Jodie said: "We believe many more have built good relationships with agents and expect to hear of more business being done over the next weeks and months."
The Roadshow took educators offering summer or winter school programmes to Beijing, Chengdu and Shenzhen.
China Roadshow so popular that agents turned up without bookings
The event was attended by 34 English UK members and over 170 Chinese agents, with even more agents arriving in the hope of meeting with educators both formally and informally.
The programme included formal dinners, agent workshops, UKVI visa update sessions, and a StudentMarketing seminar on the Chinese market.
Organised with the British Council China, the China Roadshow is the only specialist UK ELT business networking event in China, the second largest source market for UK ELT in 2017.
In 2019, the Roadshow will visit Beijing, Hangzhou and Shenzhen. More information will be available early next year.
