Lockdown restrictions eased across the UK
As lockdown restrictions are eased across the UK, owners and directors of ELT centres will be considering the structure of their businesses, the profile of their students, the location and layout of their premises and the wellbeing of their students and staff when planning the date and nature of their re-opening for face-to-face teaching. This will not be the same for all.
Government social distancing guidelines should be followed, and all reasonable steps taken to ensure that premises and operations are Covid-19 secure. English UK will publish further guidance to help members on Monday 1 June 2020 and will hold a follow-up webinar on this topic on Tuesday 2 June 2020 at 11:00.
We will continue to monitor all Government announcements, keeping the situation under constant review. Our priority remains the safety of students, staff and the wider community.
We would like to thank our members and international partners for their ongoing calm and public-spirited response throughout this crisis. We will continue to support the UK's ELT sector and focus our efforts on response and recovery.
