Mohamed Ali Bousfeita started his own agency, Partner Agency Bousfeita Student Services, after studying in the UK. He is based in Bournemouth with offices in Libya.
How did you start out as an agent?
I started my business as a student in Bournemouth, which is one of the main destinations for English language courses. I like helping people, and I realised I could help people and make a living.
Five years after my studies I opened my agency, with the first students in 1999.
What do you like best about your job?
What makes me proud is helping people and helping develop good services: it's my biggest kick to give them a future. Your agent goal is when you see your student achieve a better level of achievement and good things. A lot of my students eventually go to university and some of them have done a PhD. And you get to meet people from all over the world.
I specialise in the Middle East and North Africa. I am from Libya originally and have large numbers of offices compared with other agents in Libya. All this is to help the Libyan population and students, so they can reach us from any destination in Libya.
What made you join the Partner Agency Scheme?
It's always good to be recognised as a good organisation and to be with the right people. We get to meet quality educators and we don't have to travel all over. I would recommend others to join the scheme.
We're the only Libyan agency in the scheme at the moment and we're proud of that. It gives us the edge over the competition.
