Update on English UK events and training
English UK has been continuously monitoring the Covid-19 pandemic on behalf of the UK ELT sector and we continue to be committed to supporting our membership community, agent network and stakeholders as best we can.
To ensure the safety and wellbeing of our community, we have reviewed our upcoming events and made the appropriate arrangements to follow expert guidance and reduce risk while delivering services as far as possible:
UK training and conferences
Following recent measures announced by the UK Government relating to social distancing and avoiding unnecessary travel we are seeking alternatives to planned face-to-face training and conferences. Where possible training will be moved online and where this isn't possible, we will postpone to a later date.
We do not intend to deliver any face-to-face training or conferences before June 2020.
All delegates registered for an event that needs to be rescheduled will be automatically transferred to the new date and informed of the change.
We are in contact with all trainers and registered attendees. If you have registered for an event and have not heard from us please get in touch with our Events and Training Officer Eleanor.
Overseas events and conferences
We continue to plan for training and events from September onwards to take place. This includes StudyWorld 2020 in September, the China Roadshow and our Asia Pacific events in Vietnam and Thailand in November. We are working closely with all our venues and event partners, all of whom have implemented additional policies to protect attendees and we continue to monitor the situation.
We will continue to assess each event individually and will follow advice from the UK Government, Public Health England, World Health Organisation and other authorities and governments to inform and steer our decision making and planning.
It is our hope that StudyWorld 2020 will form a critical part of the rebuilding phase in international education as we move beyond the worse of the impact of Covid-19.
Our thoughts are with you, your colleagues, families and communities. We are part of a resilient industry and believe we can navigate these uncertain times as a community. Keep safe.
