English UK would like to extend an invitation to all English UK member centres from the Kurdistan Regional Government UK Representation, for a one day conference on Monday 30 January at the 1 Victoria Street Conference Centre, London.
The Kurdistan Regional Government has allocated $100million a year to its Human Capacity Development Programme (HCDP) in which postgraduate students and civil servants are given scholarships to study abroad. Already 3,000 scholarships have been awarded – many to British institutions – and many more will follow.
This one-day conference will give British universities and educational & training institutions the opportunity to hear about developments in this dynamic emerging nation's higher education sector, including the HCDP Programme, openings for collaboration in research, teacher training, English language training, teaching quality assurance, accreditation, and other prospects.
The event will also provide the perfect venue to meet the heads of Kurdish universities and others who work in the sector. There will be networking opportunities over lunch and coffee. One-to-one meetings will be arranged where possible.
The conference is free of charge but all participants must register in advance and only those who have been registered and received confirmation will be admitted.
Please click here to download the invitation.

There will also be an opportunity to hear more about this subject at the upcoming English UK ELT Marketing Conference on Thursday 26 January 2012 at Butchers' Hall, London, EC1A 7EB. Ms Bayan Rahman, the Kurdistan Regional Government's High Representative to the UK, will be leading a market information session.
