Mental health resources for UK ELT providers
We are here to support our member centres in all aspects of their work. And with one in four people experiencing poor mental health in their lifetime, breaking the stigma and increasing knowledge and awareness around mental health is a key part of this.
According to a 2017 report by Campus Living, 35% of international students identify as having poor mental health. Up to 55% report having poor mental health for over two years. And, when students are away from home in a country they don't know, experiencing or living with mental ill-health can become even more challenging.
As the national association for English language teaching centres in the UK, we want to ensure that you have the resources and knowledge to support students and staff and help you create an industry that is open and honest about mental health issues and is able to keep everyone safe.
We have therefore compiled resources from organisations that are able to help you learn more about mental health and how to support your colleagues and students. We will continue to update these online resources.
