Description of centre
Harrow School Short Courses, previously known as BABSSCo, is an association of two of the top UK boarding schools offering English Language and activity summer courses, founded by Harrow School in 1995. The other school in our association is Heathfield School (Ascot). The courses are for girls and boys aged 8-17 and last 2 to 6 weeks in July and August. They cater for ability levels from elementary to proficiency. As well as learning English in class, the courses include social activities, sports and excursions, so that students practise their English all day. The students get a taste of life in the UK as well as the chance to improve their speaking and understanding of everyday English. Students are taught by qualified EFL (English as a Foreign Language) teachers. Our teaching standards are high and students are expected to work hard, but we know that learning is easier if you enjoy what you are doing, so the lessons include interesting and exciting activities such as songs, games, drama and role-playing. Students receive 15 to 20 hours of English Language tuition per week. They are resident in the schools' own boarding houses in single, twin or triple study bedrooms and they also use the schools' excellent sporting and teaching facilities. Fees are fully inclusive of transfers, all excursions, accommodation, activities, lessons and meals, all students need to bring is pocket money. Included in our extremely popular multi-activity courses are optional extra choices of science, tennis, drama, football and leadership which students can choose depending on their interests and perferences.
