Description of centre
With over 60 years’ teaching expertise, Bell knows how to help students achieve their learning goals. Since our first school opened in 1955, we've created success stories for students from all over the world, transforming the lives of over 1 million people.
Our 2018 Bell Cambridge British Council Inspection identified 14 of the 15 areas assessed as 'Strengths', and our 2021 Independent Schools Inspectorate (ISI) inspection gave Bell schools its highest ranking in all areas inspected. We also feature in the EL Gazette’s Centres of Excellence Guide.
At Bell we teach English to adults aged 16+ and prepare them for internationally-recognised English language exams. We also prepare students for university through our University Foundation Programme (UFP), providing access to undergraduate programmes at top universities throughout the UK, as well as renowned English-medium universities in Europe. Our UFP offers a wide range subjects, meaning students can go on to study an incredible range of business, humanities, science and engineering degrees. We also run a Masters Preparation Course for those wanting to study at postgraduate level at UK universities.
In addition, we train teachers with our CELTA and Delta teacher-training programmes, bespoke teacher courses for groups (including Linguistic Mediation) and run summer teacher courses at Bell Teacher Academy in Cambridge, attended by English teachers from all around the world. Our teacher-trainers include world-class names such as our Head of Education Silvana Richardson, and renowned ELT author Adrian Underhill.
Our Cambridge school has been home to Bell for nearly 60 years. It offers a grand and picturesque study environment, as well as a supportive student community. Located within easy reach of the historic city centre, it features impressive study, social and leisure facilities including a large contemporary learning centre, student games room and indoor and outdoor dining areas.
