The UK Government announced on 10th March that the go-live date for the student tier of its new points-based system for migration will be 31st March. From this date, students looking to study in the UK can apply for their visa through the new points-based system which will streamline the Student visa application process.

Participation is limited to just 70 organisations (30 educators and 40 agencies) and is open to English UK member centres and selected top quality agents from the Middle East, North Africa, Central Asia and Turkey.

You might think the world economic situation and increasing Green awareness might be potentially damaging to the business prospects of language schools in the UK, a plane trip away from most of their customers. But you would be wrong. 

Not only have many English UK members reported positive bookings for the first quarter of 2009, but several are developing a new niche opportunity: online lessons. 

English UK today announced that it has achieved its 2009 target of exceeding 400 members, with membership today standing at 402.
